Rudolphs have supplied specialist Abrasive Blasting and Coatings to the marine industry for over 18 years. Contracting to the former Northport Corporation, Rudolphs major work was primarily on the “Black Boats” or Tuna Boats.
Today the Northland Slipway is operated by NZ Ship Repair. Rudolphs are proud to still be the preferred supplier for Abrasive Blasting and Coating Services.
Underwater Hulls, Topsides, Bulwarks, Fish Wells, Tanks, Chain Lockers, Void Spaces, Engine Rooms, Wheel-houses, Decks and Walkways are just some of the types of areas that require our services.
A variety of vessels can be accommodated. In the past 12 months vessels like the “Spirit of NZ” and “Rainbow Warrior 11” have hauled out for repairs and maintenance. We are currently preparing and coating the barge ‘Chasseloup” and tug “ Tamanou” from Noumea. Rudolphs are also one of the preferred suppliers for our Abrasive Blasting services for the NZ Frigates Te Kaha and Te Mana.
Industrial - Protective Coatings
Our Ruakaka Yard services a major engineering company South Pacific Instrumentation (SPI) and also provides an outwork facility directly for the New Zealand Refinery Company. The Lower Port Road Yard services a variety of local and Northland engineering companies. Work scopes are primarily based on Industrial Coatings designed for specific protective coatings and durability requirements dependant on the environment exposure.

Rudolphs also service the Transport and Construction Industries. Preparation and/or coatings for both new build and maintenance on Fleet Vehicles.
